5 Reasons To Identify Your True Calling In Life

A lot of people are desperate to figure out what their life purpose is. We all want to feel fulfilled and discovering your purpose is crucial to that pursuit. It’s the great way that we all wonder about. For people who don’t seem that interested in figuring it all out, there are plenty of reasons that you should. The reasons go beyond spiritual or philosophical reasons.

1. Unlock Your Potential
When you know your purpose, you can unlock your potential. We all have talents that come to us naturally and they tend to make the process of chasing your purpose a bit easier. Think about how easy certain things come to you when you have to work so hard at others. Those things that you come to you easily will help you determine your purpose and unlock your potential.

2. Passion
When you live your purpose, you feel passionate about what you do. That passion extends to other aspects of your life. Can you say that about the life you lead now? Are you just working in any job or are you living your calling? If work leaves you exhausted, and not in a good way, then you’re working just to live.

It doesn’t matter how high you climb the career ladder, if it isn’t your calling, then you’re unlikely to feel any joy from it. Sure, you may celebrate the increase in pay, a corner office, and a boost in responsibilities… but, it doesn’t last long. Does it?

3. Abundance
Abundance doesn’t mean material wealth, though it certainly can. When you are operating in line with your purpose your soul will feel abundant. Success will likely come a bit easier (once you make a breakthrough), and you won’t be as concerned with the trappings of wealth. Instead, you will be fully focused on chasing that purpose which will bring you happiness and abundance. You will finally be fulfilled.

4. Contribution
Your purpose doesn’t just benefit you. It also allows you to make a valuable contribution to the world. Typically, true callings have a knock-on effect. For example, you might be a lawyer, you became a lawyer to help others but got caught up on the side of it that brings you money. So, to fulfill your calling you can take that degree and work for a non-profit, or a firm that focuses on freeing innocent people who are fighting their convictions.

You may simply encourage your firm to take on a certain number of pro bono cases each year. There are ways to honor your true calling without shaking up your entire life. Only you can determine whether that’s enough for you. Ultimately, pursuing your calling allows you to improve the world around you.

5. Relationships & Health
Every aspect of your life is impacted when you don’t live your purpose or find your true calling. That includes your relationships. How is that possible? Well, it affects you as a person and when you are unhappy, it’s difficult to make others happy.

If you are currently single, then it may affect your ability to attract the right type of person into your life. When you are frustrated and miserable, that tends to rub off on others.

Your health is no different. When you don’t enjoy what you do, or you are living contrary to your purpose, you are likely anxious and stressed.

Starting to live your calling will provide you with energy, you’ll be more passionate about life and everything in it. A lot of people don’t realize the toll their choices have on them until they make a change.

You are stressed out, running on empty, and it affects your health and overall wellness. You are more likely to pick up every bug that is going around, and your body aches at the thought of getting up to go to work. It might be your normal, but it certainly isn’t normal.
